A talk ,a thought,a feeling....

Back in 2011/2012, I was playing popular games like everyone else.
The cheat was taking a big part in a lot of games that I was playing with my friends and we were not enjoying our favorite game anymore because of that...
I came up with the idea to create a game to continue spending time with my friends without anyone cheating.

So, I started my first game with Dark Basic, where games are made only with codes without any editor like we have now.
After a few months, I discovered Unity, a strong game engine that allows you to create games with code, but also allows you to navigate and create your map without coding everything.
It was the beginning of everything... 2 months after the discovery of Unity, the zombie version of my game was ready and some of you had the chance to test it.
2 month after again, the version of Rush Team that i was playing only with my friends was released on kongregate (14th of July, 2012).

Despite the bad UI, the bad website, and the game without any direction, players came and were happy to play it.

We had during many years our success like many games had in the past. I remember the success of UberStrike and still do not understand why they have closed their game after the Unity web player deprecation.

I was, and I'm still on Rush Team by hobby. It has been a long road for me to keep the game online, to fight against the cheat waves, to protect a lot of players harassed by close friends, to deal with the game industry moving forward and closing the tools that was working well for us during many years, to deal with personal attack with my personal information... You have no way of the charge of the work needed in the background. From the start I was the target and the bad guy for everybody, and it took me a few years to understand and to accept it even if I was doing nothing or not even knowing the person. I'm the person who made this game and had to take action against bad players. It's like at your work or at the school, you receive instructions from some people that have the power to do it and you are not happy with that, so with the game, it's the same, Roka made the game, so we do not like him, it's ok and I have accepted it 10 years ago.

The game is up since 2012 and I have put a lot of personal money during many years to keep it online.
I had a lot of neutral years where the outcome and income were equal, a bit over or a bit lower, so it's possible to stay like this.

Since the covid, everything had exploded and the cost to run the game has been multiplied by 3 but not the income.

After the covid a lot of people were more focused with the real life than the gaming and it's the case for all games.

For example, venge.io started in 2020 had over 5000 players online 2 years ago, now 800 players online is hard to reach for this big title and I have seen the same on some other big title. Spectre Divide started the last year will close their servers after 6 months...

I had a call today with my financial accountant and the loss starts to be too much important.
I will not enter in the details, but I will give to the game maximum 1 years to be closed in the worst cast or again many years to stay online if I close my company, put the game back to my personal money and reducing the cost by changing my servers for a cheaper one.

The principal outcome of the game is my financial accountant followed by the servers(website and game), i wanted to be clean with my government, so in 2015 i have started my company to make everything legal and to pay the tax as i should do.

This week is a bit a hard week for me because a lot of questions come to my head. I'm getting old and I still want to enjoy my time with my family, I still want to travel in the world, I still want to take some time for me, I have a good job now with a good salary and I want to invest some time on it, I still want to run my baby Rush Team..... Really hard when everything is dancing in your head.

In all cases, everything is fine at the moment, but I think it's the best time for me to share with you what is happening in the background. (modifié)

I'm not happy with that, but I have also to make face with the reality and the money difficulty of the company.

Rest assured that I'm exploring all cases like steam as example, but it will reveal all my game codes that were fighting against the cheaters during many years...
I know that by doing that the cheat party will start to be crazy .... An option is to sell the game on steam, cheater are less present in a paid game because if their account gets banned, they have to pay the game again to get access to it. I don't know....

Let's see how it goes..... I will continue to give you the information at the right moment.
